Billboard Hot 100: #13
Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs: #21
Hot Rap Songs: #23
By 1993, the Gangsta Rap era was in full effect. In an attempt to keep up with the times, rappers from the "Golden Era" of the late 80s and early 90s tried (and mostly failed) to take on a harder image and sound. DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince (aka Will Smith) were no exception to this. This was the first single from the duo's fifth and final album.
